We're true-desi Canadians, who started out to make a dream come true - an independent business that we are passionate about!
Pattuchela literally means "Silk Wear" in South Indian languages of Malayalam & Tamil (*Pattu selai), and we chose that name for the business when it started small scale back in early 2018 selling via Facebook and WhatsApp. In the beginning, the sale was mostly focused on selling sarees directly from India, shipping to customers around the world. With great sales, awesome positive reviews and direct connections with Indian weavers & artisans, in 2020 we decided to take it a notch up by opening an online web-store focusing more especially on North American customers with available fast, free shipping to Canada and USA and discounted shipping to rest of the world. With the pandemic, the plans got hit but we didn't give up. And here we are! 😊
We personally curate and source our products directly from weavers in different parts of India (not from resellers) - those we've known since 2018 and have always delivered their best - which is imported and stocked in Canada. We then check each and every one of them to make sure it is of the best quality and are priced competitively.
